Pick: Dinamo with (+1) AH Result: Pending Stake: 10/10 Odds: 1.55 Bookmaker: Fonbet vCash: No Posted: Aug 08, 2006, 12:54
The last season finalist, Arsenal is going to face the Croatian giant, Dinamo. Many of key players of the English side will be out tonight: Freddie Ljungberg , Thiery Henry, Jens Lehman, Theo Walcott and Philippe Senderos. They will have not Pires and Campbell too.Even though these players are of much importance for the Londoners, still they have enough quality and experience to play a good match against their hosts tonight. Just look at these meaningfull names: Toure, Fabregas, Van persie, Reyes, Adebayor, G.Silva and their best transfer for this season : Tomas Rosicky, one of the best playmakers I've seen in WC 2006!
Tonight there will be about 30,000 Croatian noisy fans at Zagreb to support their squad. The best players of the hosts are : Eduardo da Silva, the Brazilian striker and Jens Nowotny, the German defender.Tonight the Croatian side will probabely rely just on Arsenal's lack of fitness.Physically Arsenal are not completely ready yet because they had 16 players at the World Cup.

Pick: Benfica with (0) AH Result: Pending Stake: 10/10 Odds: 1.78 Bookmaker: Fonbet vCash: No Posted: Aug 08, 2006, 12:52
Austria Vienna haven't started the Austria Bundesliga well: 0-3-1, 2 goals scored and 4 ones received ended in 8th position for them which is really a dissapointing record for their fans.
On the other hand, the Portugues squad seems to be a really good team in Champions League competetions. Last season they succeed to beat the 2004 CL's champion, Liverpool both at home and at Liverpool. (1-0 & 2-0) and if it was not the mighty Barcelona, they would have qualified and even gained the title! They brought the Mexican star, Jose Fonseca for this season in July and now they've a quality team: Luisao, Andersson, A.Pettit, Geovanni, Zahovic, Gomes, Sabrosa, Beto.
The home side will have support of their fans, but I really think that this cann't help them to face such a powerfull team as benfica, specially when I think about the superiority of the Portugues soccer style over the Austrian football.Another fact is that the guests are a much more experienced and know how to play in such situations.I predict a win for the Benfica.

Pick: Werder with (0) AH Result: Pending Stake: 10/10 Odds: 2.07 Bookmaker: Fonbet vCash: No Posted: Aug 05, 2006, 15:15
Final match of the German Liga Pokal. One side is the Reds of Munich and the opponent is White-Greens of Bremen, the last season runner-up.You may think that this match is not of much importance, but I assure you that you'll watch an exiting, and hopefully profitabel!, match. Why? Well, apart from the fact the these teams will be the closest rivalsfor winnig the title and therefore this match will be a prestigeous duel, they will try to gain a huge prize.(about $ 2.5 million).
Werder Bremen played an excellent soccer against Hamburger in semifinal and won the match 2-1. Their world cup stars, Tim Borowski, Miroslav Klose and Torsten Frings played well in that clash, specially Klose who made an excellent scorong opportunity for M.Zidane and Frings who scored a beautifull goal in 82'and led the white-greens to the final.
Now they must face the champion Bayern Munich in Leipzig to win the title. Bayern Munich has sold it's best player and the main playmaker, M.Ballack to the Chelsea. I really hope that my compatriot, Ali Karimi may fill Ballack's post successfully, but let be realistic! I assure you that the Reds will pay for this. Their main good transfers was bringing the WC star, Lukas Podolsky and Daniel van Buyten from the Hamburger to the Munich. For today, Lucio and Kahn will probably return but Martin Demichelis, Andreas Görlitz, Sebastian Deisler, Valerién Ismaël, Claudio Pizarro and Christian Lell will be out. Therefore they will have many problems tonight against their most challenged rival in recent years.
Another fact which led me to betting on Werder is the fact that recently the Reds of Munich have gained some really bad results. In their last 3 friendly matches, they lost to Strasbourg 2-0 in Munich and to Urawa 1-0 in Tokyo and a 1-1 draw against the LASKA of Austria.
Considering the fact that the last head to head clash of these German giants ended with a 3-0 victory for the White-Greens,and that final matches usually have few goals (if any!) I think that my pick would be good choice.
Probable line-ups:
Bayern Munich: Kahn - Sagnol, Lucio, van Buyten, Lahm - Dos Santos, Hargreaves, Karimi, Schweinsteiger - Podolski, Makaay
Werder Bremen: Wiese - Fritz, Fahrenhorst, Naldo, Womé - Frings, Baumann - Diego, Schulz - Klose, Zidan
